WEDDINGS

Tony was our DJ for our wedding at the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard on 24th June. Everything went very smoothly from the point of first contact to packing up on the day. He responded very promptly to emails and your prices were more competitive than the other suppliers recommended by our wedding coordinator and there was no discernible difference in the services offered.

We checked out Tony’s Facebook page which was up to date and the photos and summaries of previous gigs provided reassurance that he had experience of playing at some big and prominent venues.

The setup on the day looked brilliant and the introductions to those giving speeches made them feel more comfortable and was an unexpected ‘extra’ in terms of the service we received. From our very first contact with Tony we knew we were going to have a professional and helpful service right the way through to the day of the wedding. Tony and his team were more than happy to answer all our questions and did so promptly; more than that, they attended our pre-planning meetings and provided us, at each stage, with an updated schedule of timings to accommodate any changes we had made. Our music selections were used, with Tony’s in depth knowledge of music and what works as a floor filler etc always helping us chose the best tracks. He regularly checked in with the wedding planners to make sure everything he was doing fitted in with what they needed. We always felt like our day was as important to them as it was to us. On the day, from promptly turning up, their smart appearance, discreet set up, perfect timing on playing the ceremony music, playing the wedding breakfast background music at just the right volume, through to the evening disco where they were happy to take (and actually play!) requests – everything surpassed our expectations. Absolutely amazing!! We honestly couldn’t have asked for our day to go any smoother and a lot of this was down to Tony. He was with us before our meal to introduce us, throughout our dinner, the speeches and the whole of the evening. He was able to advise us on timings, positioning and songs due to working at our venue beforehand- The Reid Rooms, Dunmow- which really helped us to plan our day. Top notch!!! On the day of our wedding the DJ provided excellent music perfectly suited to a wedding. They read the room well and got even our aunts and uncles on the dance floor! He handled the toasts and announcements smoothly and seamlessly switched from romantic dinner music to lively music for dancing.

During the planning process they were very professional and attentive. We didn’t have much clue as to our music preferences but they were able to guide us and couldn’t be happier with the results. We literally asked them for “wedding-y music” and they absolutely delivered!

It was very easy to sort out with them what to use as our entrance and first dance music. They coordinated very well with the venue to seamlessly set up and sort out the timings of the day. We were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy our day knowing that it was left in capable hands.

I cannot recommend Tony Poole Discos enough! Leading up to our wedding day, Tony kept in touch with us and made sure that everything on our day would go smoothly. The set up was absolutely beautiful, and just made the venue look that extra bit more special. I particularly loved the star walls that were set up behind the DJ booth and top table — during the ceremony, we had one of the star walls behind the table where we signed the register, and it just looked so beautiful. I can’t recommend this DJ enough! I booked Tony a little over a week before my wedding on May 4th. His correspondence was swift and you could tell he really cared about making sure you get what you want from him. He asked for a number of different Spotify playlists (first dance song, guest song requests, our song requests etc) and managed to get through a lot of them. It was a fantastic night with lots of DJ interaction. Tony would be aware when either myself or my husband walked on the dance floor and would give us a shout out. It was great.

We had a technical issue before the day. The venue advised they had their own PA system so Tony wouldn’t need to bring his own. Thankfully he did anyway because the PA system certainly wasn’t disco enough for our party vibe. He also didn’t charge for this – talk about exceptional service!

He is so good, one of our groomsmen have already booked him for their wedding in November!

Tony has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, professional and friendly. He has stuck by me throughout the planning and lead up to our wedding reception, always responded quickly to any questions and melt downs I had and put all my worries at ease. The package I booked consisted of DJ, up-lighting, photobooth and confetti cannon (which was a lovely touch), the room looked fabulous and Tony created a great atmosphere and had me up dancing all night. Tony DJ’d and much much more for our wedding at the Reid Rooms. He had the party rocking right from the start and his announcements and music before each speech were brilliant and kept everybody pumped up. The atmosphere was fantastic!! Tony provided a wonderful service for our wedding, including ceremony music. We had the white Dj set up, uplighting and light show.

Tony Poole Discos provided the DJ service at our wedding at Colchester Castle and The Moot Hall in Colchester Town Hall, including providing music for our ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening disco.

The service they provided was second to none, from the fantastic set up and lighting system, the beautiful LED dance floor and photo booth, through to Tony’s superb attention to every detail, and clear dedication to making sure our day was wonderful throughout.

Tony is extremely professional, yet really cares 100% about what he does, and it’s clear that he really wants to ensure that every single person in the room enjoys themselves.

Tony DJ’d our wedding and we can honestly say that the dancefloor was packed start to finish. So many of our guests have said since that it was one of the best parties they’ve ever been to at a wedding, with every age group catered for. Nothing cliched (i.e. definitely *not* the DJ from Love Actually), instead he dropped plenty of classic tunes mixed with more contemporary chart hits. We had to make a conscious effort to take a break from dancing to chat with guests or get a drink, which is usually the sign of a great DJ.

Hiring a DJ is such a tricky thing to do, and it was one of the things I (groom) was most sensitive about as I wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have a good old boogie. Even if the rest of the day is impeccable, if the DJ is only ok it can make the whole event a bit average… I am *so* glad we went with Tony in the end – I was a sweaty mess by the last tune, as were loads of others, so don’t hesitate: get him booked. Tony was our wedding DJ and he was a hoot. A pleasure to work with and he is really good at breaking the ice. We booked Tony for our Wedding on the 26th October 2024. He supplies an e-brochure showing multiple DJ set up options plus additional features. We chose to have him for the whole day. This included arranging music for the ceremony (before, during and after). Using all his own equipment, he compered the reception, which included introducing the newly married couple, speeches, cake cutting, first dance and any required announcements. We were both so pleased with Tony and how he carried out his work. As soon as we agreed to have him provide the entertainment for the day, Tony was quick to arrange a follow up meeting (which was carried out via Zoom as we live abroad), where he offered advice and recommended different audio and visual options. We chose the premier set up with ambient uplighting, several starlit backdrops and the white LED dancefloor, the latter really puts the icing on the cake. Tony has a vast wealth of experience when it comes to events and this was invaluable when we were trying to bring things together with the different suppliers. Several weeks before the wedding date, Tony met with us in person, along with the event manager and celebrant to help work out a timeline and offered advice for the layout of the room and how he could make our special day be the best it could be. In the run up to the wedding he was quick to respond to any queries, easy to talk to and on the big day he arrived early to set up his equipment. He was very well organised, good on the microphone and played cracking music all night. A special thank you here, as we gave him a broad spectrum of musical genre’s to play and he mixed in and out of these to perfection. It was obvious from the first time I made contact with Tony Poole Discos that he was professional and he wanted me to feel relaxed in knowing that he was the right person for the job. Every email I sent to Tony was replied to very quickly and that put me at ease, especially as I booked him at quite short notice.

Tony had already arranged discos at our venue on a couple of occasions before hand so he gave me some very valuable advice regarding the lighting and the atmosphere that he would recommend. Don’t take this advice lightly as it definitely enhanced the overall experience on the night.

I’ve known Tony since the 1980’s. I knew he was a DJ so when I decided to have my first ever birthday party for my 60th in March 2020 I knew who to go to. I always thought that your DJ just turned up and played music. Tony proved that a DJ is so much more than that!

From the moment I contacted Tony he gave me advice on venues and sent me photos of set ups that he had done before to help me decide on what I would like. In the end I sent videos of a venue I had chosen and asked Tony to suggest what would give the venue the ‘Wow!’ factor. Based on what I had liked from his photos Tony suggested what would look great. I have to admit, I totally relied on his experience and had everything he suggested which included a white sparkly dance floor and ambiance lighting.

Tony was so patient with me, he listened to what I said and read everything I sent. I know this is a fact because of the things he said on the night. Tony made the experience very personal and he made me feel special and that I was his priority. I know he had a lot of other clients, so it’s quite a talent to do this. He also responded quickly to all of my messages which was particularly reassuring,

The party was delayed until the 9th October and was now a joint 60th and 65th for me and my husband. In the run up to the new date, Tony made sure I was happy and asked if there was any additional music I wanted. Tony also liaised directly with the venue which was a great help, copying me in on the emails so I knew what was happening.

On the night of the party when I arrived and saw the set up I was absolutely thrilled. The lights, the flooring the backdrop, everything was perfect and I just knew we were going to have an amazing night.

We had such an fantastic evening, we were all dancing so much. I had so many compliments from my guests on the set up, the music and the personal party experience that Tony provided with his introductions to some of our songs and the reasons behind our choices. He played our wedding song and gave us the wedding dance that we hadn’t previously had, which was wonderful.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was with the party I had organised by Tony Poole Discos.

I booked a live singer @amyloumusic ambiance lighting, dancefloor, big lit numbers, photo booth and of course DJ.

The attention to detail by Tony and his team is astonishing. He came and viewed the venue, advised on the best layout and set up; sound checked and ensured everything would be done for the big night.

Tony communicated with me a lot prior to the event ensuring everything was in place, my music requests, whether I wanted to make a speech, was there a cake presentation etc.

Tony was not wrong. I have never felt so relaxed before an event in my life, they had taken care of everything, all I had to do was arrive and have a good time!

The venue looked amazing and the music was spot on. Tony really is a very talented DJ and knew exactly how to get people on the dance floor, which was amazing.

I recently used the services of Tony Poole Discos to provide entertainment for my Wife’s 50th Birthday at a cellar bar in Central London.

From the point of booking Tony’s services through to the evening and the day after I was extremely impressed with Tony’s professionalism, organization, availability to discuss requirements and logistics including his seamless co-ordination with the location management.

A few days ahead of the evening, Tony emailed asking for firm requirements for the night, which to be honest from my side, apart from a list of “must/must not have” were an extremely vague reference to some ’80’s/’90’s dance music.

Tony took this and created a set that absolutely nailed the evening, creating the perfect party atmosphere. He showed an uncanny ability to “read the room” choosing music to fit the prevailing mood at a volume where people could dance and party whilst others could have meaningful conversations without having to shout. Which is no mean feat in a small cellar bar environment. A couple of weeks after the event, people who were at the party are still commenting on how fantastic the DJ and music were. I have been to a lot of private functions throughout the years and very often a DJ will try to make the evening about “them” with constant dialogue and voiceovers; Tony and his team rely more on their ability to provide an incredible set whilst personally remaining in the background unless called upon.

You can book the perfect venue, invite all the “right people”, provide the best catering, but the success of your event relies solely on the DJ,. with Tony Poole Discos you are in safe competent hands.

My Wife, Carley and I got married on 16/06/18 at my parents property in Chapel Amble, North Cornwall where we had Tony Poole and his friend and colleague Mick Berry who travelled all the way from Essex to perform for us. After being recommended by family members we checked out Tony’s Facebook page. This contained up to date photos and videos of previous events that he had done which proved his wealth of experience performing at all types of parties and events. Tony and Mick set up their equipment the day before the wedding in our marque where they were very well organised and the DJ set itself along with the uplighting around the perimeter of the marquee was superb . Tony and Mick played all the music that we asked for and more, they also kindly took a number of requests from our quests. Tony also arranged a confetti canon midway through our first dance which was an amazing surprise for our guests and made for great photographs. I was really impressed with Tony from the first contact right up to the party. Howard phoned me before the party to discuss playlist to ensure the songs reflected what the couple wanted . He had also already spoken to the venue about setting up. He worked with us too with his lighting and our decorations. Then most importantly the music was fab. Loads of people commented on the music and everyone had a fantastic time. There was one spot where only a few of us were dancing – Howard tugged me and I found the bridesmaids to get everyone back on the dance floor. I recently celebrated my party using Tony Poole Discos having being recommended by a friend. We used DJ Tony for our wedding in 2024 and we couldn’t have asked for any more. Starting from the booking, Tony phoned us to talk through everything and he phoned the venue we had booked to check what and wasn’t available/needed for us and our needs. Having used Tony for my 50th birthday it only seemed right to have him along for my 60th! And what a night, with Tony giving the restaurant area of my local pub an almost night club feel with clever lighting, let alone the music. After asking my wife what she would like to hear, which was mainly contemporary chart and dance tracks, I put a twist on the choices by giving Tony a list of music from my earlier years… but he had no problem blending 70s and 80s ‘classics’ into the mix which had most of my friends up and bopping around all evening! I’ve been to a couple of parties where Tony Poole was the DJ. His disco set up and lighting was really impressive and the music he played made sure the dance floor was packed all night. I really like the way he interacts with the crowd and generates a fantastic atmosphere. They were both brilliant nights and it wasn’t just me saying it.
